How do you know if a shoe is a good support?
The sole of the shoe should be stiff in the middle and flexible at the toes. To test this, grab the heel of the shoe, place the toe box on ground and press down with as much force as possible. If the shoe collapses on itself, it is too flexible and it won't be supportive.
Shoes That Don't Fit Properly: Shoes that are too big or too small can pinch or strain feet. As you age, your feet may grow wider and longer, and your shoe size may change, so measure your feet regularly. High Heels: If you have to wear high heels, try varying the shoe and the heel height during the week.
Generally speaking, there should be about one finger's width of space between your longest toe and the end of the shoe. Another way to check this is to slip a finger between the heel of your foot and the heel of your shoe. There should be just enough space for your finger to fit nice and snugly.

Sometimes, new shoes can be exceptionally uncomfortable and even painful at first and then turn into the comfiest pair you own. You definitely want to try to avoid painful blisters, ingrown toenails, overpronation, unnecessary rubbing, sore feet, and heel pain, which is why slow and steady is usually the way to go.

If your feet are slightly destabilized, it could lead to minor issues throughout your legs, hips, and lower back, that become more prominent over time and lead to secondary conditions such as overpronation and plantar fasciitis.
If you require firm support, then hard orthotics is ideal. A soft orthotic is ideal for taking pressure off the foot. If you're new to using insoles but have plantar fasciitis pain, try semi-rigid orthotic arch support that provides a fine blend of support, flexibility, and comfort.
You don't usually need to get bigger shoes when using insoles unless the shoe is already extremely tight-fitting. The insole size is specific to your foot size and should fit comfortably in the shoes you already may have.
What is the one shoe that goes with everything?
Finding an amazing pair of shoes is no easy feat (pun intended, of course), but it's hard to go wrong with a neutral option. Footwear in black, beige, white, and gray should be a must-pack for your next trip since these colors can match everything you're bringing.
