Can you feed ball pythons in their cage?
Feeding your snake inside its tank means that you don't need to move or handle the snake, leaving it to digest its meal in peace. It's quick and easy. There's no need to source a separate container or spend time moving your snake back and forth.
Spoiler: No. People feed their snakes in different enclosures for two reasons. The main concern is that a snake will go into "feeding mode" when you open and reach into their usual enclosure if they are fed in that same space. Then, once the enclosure's open, they may bite you after mistaking you for prey.
The best things to feed your ball python are frozen-thawed rodents (the rodents will be sold to you in frozen form, but you'll want to let them warm up to room temperature before offering them to your snake).
