What happens when you unlock all 120 shrines?
You get a new side quest, which sends you off to the Forgotten Temple. There is a shrine there, so it's pretty easy to fast-travel, assuming you have already completed the shrine. Or maybe it's your last shrine so you're already there!
A Shrine Quest is a type of quest in Breath of the Wild. In total, there are 42 quests. Each one enables access to a Shrine of Trials, many of which are "Blessing" Shrines which do not have a further challenge to earn the Spirit Orb. No shrines accessed by a Shrine Quest are required to fight Calamity Ganon.
After completing all the shrines, we can confirm that there are 120 of them in Breath of the Wild.
There are a total of four Great Plateau shrines in BotW. This is the starting area of the game and you must complete these shrines to leave. Below is a list of each shrine.
New shrines will glow a shade of yellow (or amber, if you prefer). Shrines you've already beaten shrines will appear blue.

Vah Naboris is the most difficult of the Divine Beasts in BOTW. This Beast is located in southwestern Hyrule and was piloted by the Gerudo Champion, Urbosa. To gain control of Vah Naboris, Link rides Sand Seals close to its feet and bombards it with arrows.

Players can pull the Master Sword in Botw only after obtaining a total of 13 full heart containers.
This is one of the hidden Shrines in BotW. Location: Lakna Rokee Shrine is hidden in the forest with the fairy fountain directly east of Kakariko Village by a Sheikah sphere platform. The shrine is revealed by using the sphere from the The Stolen Heirloom quest line.

There's a white-maned lynel on the Great Plateau. There are also some new sky octoroks floating around, but they're way easier to handle.
There are many Shrines throughout the game (120, to be exact) with every region containing a handful each. You can spot them from a distance by their characteristic red glow; not unlike the Towers that sprout up throughout the land, but closer to the ground.
When it comes to the topic of stamina or hearts in BotW, most people opt for the former since the latter can still be compensated for with extra hearts from Hearty Food. In fact when it comes to health bonuses, having low hearts can actually be an advantage. After all, your level of hearts is capped at 30.
Open your map, and trace a line in your mind from the four distance Shrines, and they'll connect over the Temple of Time, just off center of the Great Plateau.
This armor set is incredibly hard to obtain - as you will only be able to get it once you have completed all 120 Shrines in the game.
Is there enough shrines to max stamina?
No, there aren't. By doing all 120 shrines, plus the four Divine Beasts you will be 3 upgrades short (heart and/or stamina). If you have the DLC you can do one more upgrade to either your hearts or stamina, leaving you 2 upgrades short.
Each Shrine of Depths contains a Luxurious Chest that awards 40 Primogems, 60 Adventure EXP, 10 of the region's Sigils and several weapons and artifacts. Primogems are the most valuable currency in Genshin Impact.
There are different types of chest and each one of them offers rewards, including Artifacts, Primogems, and more. The Common chest will give 0-2 Primogems, Exquisite chest 2-5, Precious chest 5, Luxurious chest 10-40, and Shrine will offer 40 Primogems.
Like anything else in Breath of the Wild, you can tackle the divine beasts at your leisure, visiting them in any order you want at any time you want. If you want to finish all 120 shrines and get the Master Sword before cleansing a single divine beast, nobody is stopping you.
Lynels are centaur-like monsters and the toughest enemies that Link can come across while roaming around Hyrule. Like other monsters, there are different colors of Lynels that represent different difficulty levels. Although all Lynels are hard to deal with, the Golden Lynels are the toughest.
15 Akkala. This tower is one of the most difficult to climb or even access in the first place. It can be found in the far south of the Akkala region, just north of Zora's Domain and southeast from South Akkala Stable.
Shrine enemies will respawn (including "Test of Strength" guardians), but shrine chests will not.
In keeping with the 'Twin Memories' theme, each chest is hiding in essentially the same place in both shrines: if you ride the moving platform up to the observation platform, you may be able to see a ledge behind the wall closest to the platform (as in the screenshot above).

In addition to the army of Guardians and the four planet-borne Divine Beasts, the ancient Sheikah people built a third layer of protection against the eventual rise of Ganon and shot it into space. Zelda and her team never figured that out, but Ganon sure did.
Drop your sheikah slate on the pedestal to ride the elevator down to the hidden Divine Beast.
The giant elephant Vah Ruta is an easy first choice, as it's closest to the place where you initially get the quest to cleanse the beasts.
The Tunic of the Wild armor set in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is one of the best armor sets in the game. Not only does its set bonus power up the master sword, but it also serves as a trophy that only the most dedicated players will be able to earn.
Directly in the center of the hollow is a cooking fire. To your right is the general store with food and arrows, and ahead of you is the Spore Store with its variety of mushrooms. Just to the left of that is a Goddess statue where you can trade in your spirit orbs, and to the left of that is an inn.
You can upgrade the Master Sword's base damage to 40, 50, or 60 by completing the Trial of the Sword as part of The Master Trials DLC, which we'll outline below. If you upgrade it to damage 60, the weapon becomes unbreakable, but you'll still need to recharge it after a while.

Location: Kihiro Moh Shrine is located in at the end of the Yiga Clan Hideout hidden in the valley of the Gerudo Highlands, near the giant pit - but you must complete a trial to reveal it.
The Shrine can be activated every 14 hours. Upon activation, The Shrine will summon a Mystery Customer.
In order to make the shrine itself appear, you need to wait until 9pm, then hit the statue near the back of the field with glowing purple eyes with an arrow. This, in turn, completes the Curse Statue side quest - you can get the quest itself from a man called Doctor Calip, in a house in Fort Hateno.
